Join Peter Quarry as he speaks about If I Were You: A psychologist puts himself on the couch.

In today’s turbulent world, how do you unpack what’s happened in your life to make peace with the past? How can you gain a deeper understanding of your core identity and life purpose? What can you do to create a motivating future for yourself?

In this highly original self-help/memoir, Peter Quarry explains, step by step, how to take stock of the life you’ve led so far.

With disarming frankness, Quarry demonstrates by dissecting his own chequered life. As one time sex and drug addicted ‘Pete’, he reveals the story of his sometimes shocking, always colourful background. As internationally recognised psychologist ‘PQ’, he analyses it with clinical objectivity.

The result is a work choc full of insights, wisdom and practical advice.

In putting himself on his own couch, Quarry will inspire you to reflect on your journey and gain the skills and confidence to face the continuing stream of curveballs ahead.

Peter Quarry is best known as the onscreen psychologist delivering advice on relationship problems, achieving professional success and psychological wellbeing with what the Boston Business Journal described as “great clarity and affability”.

Having studied at Melbourne University in the mid 1970s, he worked initially as a counsellor of the unemployed, then pivoted to being a sought after pubic speaker and workshop facilitator.

In the 1980s, he co-foundered Ash Quarry Productions and became the expert presenter of corporate training videos that, over the following 20 prolific years, gained global recognition. Many were translated into multiple languages and won dozens of international awards.

By the early 1990s, Peter came to the notice of ‘Good Morning Australia’, hosted by the legendary Bert Newton where he secured a regular slot as the sometimes fun, sometimes serious ‘Resident Psychologist’.

When he turned 50, Peter completely changed direction to study art and design. Discovering a passion for painting portraits, through the next decade he held several exhibitions, received numerous commissions and won several art prizes. For more details see Peter's website here.
